Program Description

As DMT becomes increasingly integrated into community settings, there is a growing need for comprehensive education. This program is specifically tailored for those who have personal experience with plant medicines and want to cultivate a career as a Psychedelic Guide.

Our program is intensive and immersive in nature. All of our students experience not only the medicine for themselves, but they learn how to guide psychedelic experiences for others in our hands-on practicum.

  • Online and in-person trainings over a period of three weeks.

  • Intensive in-person training takes place over two days in Denver, CO.

  • Students will receive a certification in DMT Guiding.

  • Students learn how to legally access the medicine for themselves and their future clients


Course Details

Our comprehensive three-week DMT Guide Training Program is designed to offer a rigorous and immersive learning experience, equipping participants with the essential knowledge and skills to become skilled psychedelic guides. This program blends virtual and in-person learning, providing a holistic approach to understanding and facilitating DMT journeys.

Week 1: Foundational Virtual Learning

The program kicks off with a week of live, virtual teachings, focused on establishing a strong foundation in psychedelic support services. During this initial phase, students will:

  • Intake Protocols: Learn how to conduct thorough and compassionate intake sessions, ensuring client safety and readiness for the experience.

  • Screening Processes: Understand the importance of screening clients for contraindications and potential risks.

  • Psychedelic Preparation: Gain insights into guiding clients through the preparation process, helping them set intentions and mentally prepare for their journey.

  • Boundaries with Clients: Learn the importance of maintaining clear professional boundaries while offering compassionate support.

  • Guiding Principles: Explore the core principles of guiding psychedelic experiences, including ethics, integrity, client-centered care, trauma-informed care, responsibilities of a guide, and how to hold non-intrusive space.

  • Safe Psychedelic Practices: Gain knowledge on safe practices and emergency protocols to minimize risks during the psychedelic experience.

This week is designed not only to prepare students for their own upcoming experiences but also to provide them with the tools necessary to effectively support future clients.

Week 2: Virtual & In-Person Intensive in Denver, CO

The second week will include two virtual learning days and a two-day (8-hour days) in-person intensive held in Denver, Colorado. This phase offers hands-on learning opportunities under the mentorship of seasoned professionals. Key components of this week include:

  • N, N DMT Guiding Practices: Engage in practical training on guiding N, N DMT journeys, with opportunities to observe and participate in multiple sessions.

  • Consumption Techniques: Learn the different methods of administering DMT and their implications for the experience.

  • Session Structure: Learn how to structure a DMT session, including preparation, the experience itself, and integration.

  • Creating a Playlist: Explore how to create a therapeutic playlist that enhances the psychedelic journey.

  • Printed Training Materials: Receive comprehensive resources including Preparation and Integration Workbooks, the N, N DMT Guide Manual, and more.

Week 3: Virtual Integration Training

The final week returns to a virtual format, focusing on the vital process of integration. During this week, participants will:

  • Integration Sessions & Techniques: Learn how to create individualized integration sessions for clients, helping them maximize their post-journey insights.

Ongoing Support:

After completing the formal training, participants will join weekly support check-ins over the course of six weeks. These sessions offer an opportunity to discuss real-world application, address any client-related questions, and continue developing as a guide with the support of peers and mentors.

Program Outcomes:

Upon completion of this program, participants will be fully equipped to guide others through DMT journeys with confidence and care. They will have a deep understanding of the preparation, facilitation, and integration processes, ensuring that their clients receive comprehensive support throughout their psychedelic experiences

Special Guest Presentation

The Spirit Pharmacist, Ben Malcolm, PharmD, MPH, Psychopharmacology Consultant and Psychedelic Educator will be discussing N,N DMT: Screening and Contraindications.

Ben has given several Continuing Education presentations to pharmacists and other healthcare professionals as well as published over a dozen articles in peer-reviewed literature relating to psychedelics or psychiatric medications.

He founded the website www.spiritpharmacist.com and currently works as a Psychopharmacology Consultant and Psychedelic Educator.
